Platinum presents the Fujin Raijin, first in the new premium Kanazawa-Haku fountain pen series.

The Kanazawa-Haku series, features meticulously applied “Momi Chirashi,” Japan’s traditional technique that has been used on folding screens and fusuma (Japanese sliding doors) since ancient times. Thin square sheets of gold leaf are torn into smaller pieces then pasted down, one-by-one, by hand, to create a sense of unlimited depth, giving an elegant glow to each one-of-a-kind pen body. The Kanazawa-Haku is equipped with Platinum's airtight Slip & Seal Mechanism that prevents ink from drying out in the pen.

The Fujin Raijin, translated to "The Wind God and the Thunder God," depicts both gods: Fujin appears on the barrel, Raijin on the cap. The pen was inspired by the Fujin-Raijin-zu by Tawaraya Sōtatsu, a well-known set of Japanese folding screens.

Fujin, also known as Futen, is the Japanese god of the wind and one of the eldest Shinto gods, often portrayed as a terrifying wizard-like demon. Raijin, also known as Yakusa no ikazuchi no kami, Kaminari-sama, and Raiden-sama, is a god of lightning, thunder and storms in Japanese mythology and the Shinto religion, typically depicted standing atop a cloud, and beating on drums.

The Fujin Raijin sports a 14K gold nib and arrives in a beautiful wooden box with a velvet interior.
